The Story

Fourteen years ago, when my husband and I had our third child, I decided to leave my job in pediatrics to be home with our children. I enjoyed watching them learn to crawl, to climb, to find new objects to put in their mouths, to walk, to discover the world and themselves. They reminded me how I had been as a child.

As soon as I had learned to walk, I pocketed every rock I could find, especially if it shimmered. At five years old, when my parents’ friend—a jeweler!—let me try on a 6 carat, pear cut diamond ring, I wanted to use whatever else I could find—bits of wire, cloth, twigs or grass—to turn all those sparkling rocks I’d found into jewelry.

The funny thing is that all those years later, as a wife with three children, I was still collecting rocks, turquoise and aquamarine, moonstone, and lapis lazuli—anything marbled blue like the sea or as clear as a mountain sky. I still wanted to turn rocks into jewelry. And I wanted not only to be home with my children but also to help my husband provide for them.

So, I started sketching designs into a notebook. I set up a workshop in our bedroom. I learned metalsmithing and how to fire clay.  I discovered Etsy in 2008, and after many, many sleepless nights (and hundreds of caramel lattes) spent pounding silver into rings or bracelets my jewelry shop became a reality.

My husband and I now have seven children. My workshop has since outgrown the tiny table in the bedroom, but my jewelry remains uniquely handmade. The kids even lend a hand sometimes! Every day I am grateful to be able to create from life’s inspirations, especially those rooted in family, whether we’re exploring the California shores or Colorado wilderness or just celebrating a birthday with a home-cooked meal. I create each piece of jewelry with the hope that it inspires you and your loved ones to celebrate and cherish the most meaningful moments in your lives.

The Original Bio

My Love of jewelry started at very early age. From the time I could walk I picked up every rock I could find with even the slightest shimmer to it. At the age of 5 a friend of my parents who happened to be a jeweler let me try on a 6carat pear cut diamond ring and from that moment on I knew that I was going to turn all those sparkly rocks I had found into jewelry!

Over the next several years I used everything I could bend into jewelry. Bits of electrical wire, cloth and paper, twigs and grass. I started selling my beaded jewelry in high school to friends and classmates. I continued making jewelry in college and occasionally selling pieces.

After working in Pediatrics for several years, my husband and I had our third baby and made the decision for me to quit working to be home with our children. I was still tinkering with jewelry making but with only one income to live off of I had to start selling my designs again to be able to afford my bead and gemstone addiction. I started selling on Ebay back in early 2000 and eventually discovered Etsy in 2008.

I have spent the last several years teaching myself metalsmithing by reading and tons of trial and error.

My pieces are Inspired by my deep love of Nature and the Earth. I purchase as many of my gemstones as I can directly from the lapidary artist (stone cutter) and I use as much recycled silver as I can.

I am honored each and every day to create jewelry that bears so much meaning for the recipient.
My rings have been given to mothers as a remembrance of children they have lost.
They have been given in celebration of life milestones such as graduations or new career choices.
They are worn by Mothers and Grandmothers to keep their loved ones near them each day.
They are worn by couples in love as they commit their hearts and lives to each other on their weddings day.

Each and every pieces is made by my two hand and my one heart.
